Anne Tang graduated from University of Bradford, England. Upon graduating, she spent her pre-registration year in Newcastle Upon Tyne. She then took a year out from optometry to study for her MBA at University of Bradford. She went back to work full time as an optometrist in West Yorkshire, England. She then studied part time for her Master in Optometry with the sponsorship from the employer. She continued working in England until her return to Malaysia in 1995.

In 1996, she joined the local eye hospital as the Head of Optometry Unit until this year. While at the eye hospital, she conducted 3 contact Lens courses (MCLEP) for the opticians. She is a IACLE contact lens educator. She had given lectures to the Ophthalmic Assistant course.

She is a member of British College of Optometrist, Association of Malaysian Optometrist and IACLE.

She is a keen badminton player and swims regularly. She is married with two girls.
