Dr Alan is a vitreoretinal surgeon who has returned to Malaysia in 2012 after 23 years in the UK.
Prior to his return, he was a consultant at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, a tertiary referral teaching hospital in the UK, and Senior Lecturer at the University of Sheffield, UK specialising in retinal disorders (surgical and medical) and visual restoration through cataract/lens procedures.
Undergraduate and postgraduate training were all undertaken in the UK with CCST (certificate of completion of specialist training) being awarded in 2005.
Vitreoretinal training in the form of 2 fellowships were undertaken at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge and Oxford Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford, UK.
Dr. Alan has published widely in the field of ophthalmology and presented at numerous international meetings. He is also a reviewer for an internationally renowned journal.
