Dr. Azura Ramlee obtained her MBBS from University of Malaya in 1998 and Masters of Surgery in Ophthalmology from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She later pursued her fellowship in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus in Sydney, Australia and was awarded the CCFT by MOH in 2010.
Besides her established subspecialty work for children, she is known for her vast experience in adult cataract ranging from refractive surgeries to management of complex cataract. She is also one of the leading surgeon who does implantable contact lens for those deemed unsuitable for LASIK/SMILE.
Dr. Azura had trained post-graduate trainees and fellows when she helmed the Cataract Services and Paediatric Ophthalmology unit in Hospital Selayang. She is an experienced phaco-trainer having coordinated surgical workshops locally and regionally. She re-established the HUKM paediatric ophthalmology services in 2012. She left for full private practice in 2017 and currently practices at ISEC and Prince Court Medical Centre.
Her work in the field of Paediatric Ophthalmology and cataract are published in peer reviewed journals and she is regularly invited to talk in ophthalmology conferences.
