Dr Gan achieved his Master of Medicine in Ophthalmology from University Sains Malaysia and his special interest is in treating glaucoma, cataract and pterygium surgery. He received his post specialist training in Glaucoma from National University Hospital, Singapore.
Dr Gan works at Kuala Lumpur Hospital, which is one of the largest tertiary public hospitals in Malaysia. He currently advises on management of complex cases in the hospital, where he also functions as medical and surgical tutor to medical officers and specialists in their training programme.
He actively participates in general ophthalmology and glaucoma conferences and is frequently invited as a speaker both locally and internationally. He is also a certified Medical Impairment Assessor of the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health of Malaysia (NIOSH).
Dr. Gan is also involved in research and publication of his clinical studies in both general ophthalmology and glaucoma subspecialty. Dr. Gan’s vision is to make his clinical specialty accessible to a wider patient community in the region.
