ISEC is an ASC, which provides cost-effective care, saving patients and insurance carriers millions of ringgit every year.  According to the United States of America (USA) Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) Report 2004 covering the 4000-odd ASC in USA, Medicare (USA) payments to ASCs are lower than payments to hospitals for comparable services in 87% of procedures.  Additionally, patient pays less co-insurance for procedures furnished in the ASC environment than for comparable hospital setting.
In the USA, MedPAC recommends that ASC be permitted to perform and receive Medicare facility payments for all surgical services, except for those services that HHS Secretary designates, after consultation with specific organizations, as posing significant risk to beneficiary safety when furnished in ASC; or that require an overnight stay.
